Wind Region

Australia is divided into four wind regions, from A to D.
Region A - greater than 30° latitude; interior Australia and southern coastal
Region A is further divided into regions A1 - A7 based mainly on wind directional differences
Region B - less than 30° latitude; coastal parts of northern Australia that are not cyclonic
Region C - coastal parts of northern Australia that are considered cyclonic; less than 25° on east coast and less than 27° on west coast
Region D - between 20° and 25° on west coast; severe cyclonic
When comparing quotes be sure you check that other companies have given you a quote on your correct wind region and terrain category.

You are in Wind Region A if...
	your latitude is greater than 30° (i.e. you are south of about Green Head).
	OR
	your latitude is between 25° and 30° (i.e. you are north of about Green Head and south of about Gascoyne Junction) and you're more than 100km from the coast.
	OR
	your latitude is between 20° and 25° (i.e. you are north of about Gascoyne Junction and south of about Cape Keraudren) and you're more than 150km from the coast.
	OR
	If your latitude is less than 20° (i.e. you are north of about Cape Keraudren) and you're more than 100km from the coast.
You are in Wind Region B if...
	your latitude is between 27° and 30° (i.e. you are north of about Green Head and south of about Nerren Nerren) and you are within 100km from the coast.
	OR
	your latitude is between 25° and 27° (i.e. you are north of about Nerren Nerren and south of about Gascoyne Junction) and you are between 50km and 100km from the coast.
	OR
	your latitude is between 20° and 25° (i.e. you are north of about Gascoyne Junction and south of about Cape Keraudren) and you are between 100km and 150km from the coast.
	OR
	If your latitude is less than 20° (i.e. you are north of about Cape Keraudren) and you are between 50km and 100km from the coast.
You are in Wind Region C if...
	your latitude is between 25° and 27° (i.e. you are north of about Nerren Nerren and south of about Gascoyne Junction) and you are within 50km from the coast.
	OR
	your latitude is between 20° and 25° (i.e. you are north of about Gascoyne Junction and south of about Cape Keraudren) and you are between 50km and 100km from the coast.
	OR
	If your latitude is less than 20° (i.e. you are north of about Cape Keraudren) and you are within 50km from the coast.
You are in Wind Region D (Severe Cyclonic) if...
	If your latitude is between 20° and 25° (i.e. you are north of about Gascoyne Junction and south of about Cape Keraudren) and you are within 50km from the coast.
