What is my Wind Region?

New South Wales and ACT
 
Australia is divided into four wind regions, from A to D.
Region A - greater than 30° latitude; interior Australia and southern coastal
Region A is further divided into regions A1 - A7 based mainly on wind directional differences
Region B - less than 30° latitude; coastal parts of northern Australia that are not cyclonic
Region C - coastal parts of northern Australia that are considered cyclonic; less than 25° on east coast and less than 27° on west coast
Region D - between 20° and 25° on west coast; severe cyclonic
When comparing quotes be sure you check that other companies have given you a quote on your correct wind region and terrain category.
You are in Wind Region A if ...
your latitude is greater than 30° (i.e. you are south of about Coffs Harbour).
 OR
your latitude is less than 30° (i.e. you are north of about Coffs Harbour) and you're more than 100km from the coast.
Note: Regions A1, A2, A3 and A4 as depicted on the map above are all to be specified as Region A.

You are in Wind Region B if...
your latitude is less than 30° (i.e. you are north of about Coffs Harbour) and you're within 100km from the coast.
