To compare shed quotes you need to know this...
Understanding metal thickness
The thickness of steel is usually measured in BMT (base metal thickness). This gives you a measurement of the steel BEFORE PAINTING, and is a true indicator of the strength of the steel sheeting.
TCT (total coated thickness) measures the steel AFTER PAINTING.
Colorbond® paint coating is .05mm.
Therefore, when comparing the sheeting thickness on your shed quote, make sure you are comparing either BMT or TCT. The table below gives an understanding of the different Colorbond® steel thicknesses that may be provided in your shed quote.

.35mm BMT = .40 TCT

.42mm BMT = .47 TCT

.48mm BMT = .53 TCT

Genuine Warranty
BlueScope® Steel offers a warranty of up to 15 years from the date of installation against corrosion and perforation by weathering in the natural elements, for roofing and walling for sheds and domestic garages located greater than 1km from a marine environment.
As is the case with all genuine warranties, BlueScope requires you to send a warrany application form. This must be done as soon as construction is completed. shedsales.com.au will send you the necessary application forms with your shed documentation.
Roof and Wall Sheeting
We understand that every customer has individual requirements and tastes. The type of sheeting you choose will affect the appearance, the strength and often the price of your shed.
On this shedsite, as you design your own shed, we do a little hand-holding. Where choices need to be made, click what's this mean... for critical information to help you make the best selection for your situation. This includes the likely pricing implications for each choice.
However, before you click design your own shed, below is an overview of our roof and wall sheeting materials.
